EMPLOYMENT & PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Elected Member Texas State Board of Education (January 2007 – December 2010)

  • Manages the 24 Billion Dollar Permanent School Fund, the textbook fund for the children of Texas;
  • Establishes and approves curriculum and standards for Public Education in Texas, setting the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for K - 12;
  • Selects and Approves Textbooks available for use by the Independent School Districts.

Public Policy Scholar And Public Speaker (December 1990 – Present)

  • Extensively researched and studied public policy issues from both a constitutional and common law framework;
  • Frequently invited as public speaker to various community, political and/or professional organizations;
  • Asked as expert on constitutional and common law issues on various radio programs.

Candidate For State Board Of Education (December 2005 – November 2006)

  • Ran Successful Primary and General campaign in a 16 County District;
  • District is roughly twice the size of a congressional district with approximately 1.4 million constituents;
  • Carried all 16 counties in both the Primary and the General Elections.

Campaign Advisor, Speech Writer And Speaker (June 1988 – November 2006)

  • Helped manage and support numerous campaigns including Federal, State and Local races;
  • Solicited by United States Senate Campaign to serve on U. S. Senate Steering Committee;
  • Drafted numerous political and public policy speeches, and frequently spoke on behalf of candidates.

Director Of Governmental Affairs (September 2002 – August 2005)

  • Drafted public policy for potential legislation concerning such issues as reduction of property taxes and protection of private property rights;
  • Drafted, negotiated and implemented resolutions for public policy;
